Legal Awareness Lecture
The Department of Law at Mahakaushal University, Jabalpur, organised a special lecture to promote legal awareness and provide guidance to students. Ms. Deepa Tiwari, Advocate at the Supreme Court of India, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Representing the Department of Law, Mr. Yugank Khare, Ms. Shobha Mishra, and Mr. Taranhar Singh were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Deepa Tiwari, has been practising as an advocate at the Supreme Court for the past 20 years. For the last 15 years, she has been providing free legal assistance to women in need and has also served the National Commission for Women for five years. Through the Samashti Welfare Foundation, she continues to work towards the empowerment of women and young people.
During the lecture, she highlighted important provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), constitutional rights, and the importance of legal literacy. She encouraged students to develop a practical understanding of the law and fulfil their responsibilities towards society.
At the conclusion of the programme, the Department of Law expressed its gratitude to the Chief Guest for her valuable guidance and presence.
The programme aimed to foster legal awareness, strengthen students’ commitment to justice, and develop a sense of social responsibility among future legal professionals.
