The Equal Opportunity Cell provides guidance and a point of contact for concerns relating to discrimination, atrocities against Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe members, and related academic or administrative difficulties within its remit.
The Cell works to promote awareness of applicable safeguards, support access to educational opportunities, and help students and employees bring relevant concerns to the appropriate University mechanism. Matters are considered under applicable laws, University policies and directions of competent authorities.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Cell offers information, guidance and support within its assigned remit and in line with applicable rules and University procedures.
Counsel and guide SC/ST students on academic and personal concerns within the Cell’s remit.
Share information about relevant scholarships and programmes of the State Government and UGC.
Receive and facilitate redressal of relevant grievances raised by eligible students and employees.
Promote awareness and preventive measures concerning atrocities against SC/ST students, faculty and staff.
Review complaints of the relevant nature and guide complainants to the appropriate authority or statutory process where necessary.
